Specimen Requirements

Container/Tube: Sterile container(s)

Specimen Volume: 2-inch distal segment of catheter tip

Collection Instructions: At time catheter is removed, aseptically clip off end and submit distal segment. Foley catheter tip is not acceptable.

Note: 1. Label container with patient’s name (first and last), medical record number, and date and actual time of collection.

          2. Specimen source is required.
