Important Note

Given the enhanced performance characteristics of this assay, the laboratory will only test one sample per patient. If clinically necessary, re-order after 5 days.

Specimen Requirements

Container/Tube: Stool container

Specimen Volume: Fresh, liquid stool specimen

Collection Instructions:

Note: 1. Avoid recent antibiotics, X-ray contrast material, antidiarrheal medications, antacids, bismuth, or oil instillation.
2. It is recommended that only 1 specimen per day be collected and submitted for PCR.

3. Label container with patient’s name (first and last), medical record number, and date and actual time of collection.

4. Specimen source is required.
