For outpatients, order CAI, Calcium, Ionized, Serum – Gold Top Tube

Container/Tube: Lithium heparin (Green-top) tube

Specimen Volume: Full tube of whole blood

Collection Instructions: Immediately invert tube and mix gently 8 times. Keep specimen anaerobic. Do not transfer blood to other containers.

Note: Label specimen appropriately.
